    You might wish to consider a bearing face at the bottom. I included rollers in the bottom of my storage rack - i think i saw it in Popular Woodworking or the like.  Drill holes in your floor supports large enough to capture a large dowel.  i used closet rod. cut sections of PVC to cover the dowel with enough oversize to allow it to spin on the dowel. space the floor supports wide enough (i used 6 ") to allow the bearing to operate freely without introducing to wide a span to create a future point of failure. Pin the dowel to stabilize and strengthen.
