im starting a cherry bookcase for my son and I’m having a heck of a time getting some of my boards straight. I’m at 3/4 now which is where I wanted to be but I’ve got a couple that still need some work. My bar napkin plans are 4’ high x 30” wide x 10” deep. What do you think?   I was hoping to get away with no face frame. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Tough call!  Much below 3/4 and it visually screams "too thin"!  Something about the upright parts of casework that need to look stout.  In the past I have ripped 3/4" off the front edge, opened it up book match style and glued it to the front inside edge to show at 1 1/2".

Thanks, Rob. I hand flattened one board yesterday and wound up just proud of 11/16. I hope To keep at least two others closer to 3/4 for the uprights. I hate to go buy any more wood since this stuff matches so well. Thanks for the idea on ripping some pieces.
