Hinge box - resawing small pieces

Just watched you resaw small ebony pieces on the table saw.  SURELY, there is jig - sacrificial or not - that can be used to make this less dangerous.  I have a SawStop, but I can't imagine cutting small pieces like this (I would rip a longer piece to make this safer, even if the wood is priced like gold).  Am I the only one who feels this way?

Hi Steve, one of the bad side effects of doing this for a living is the easy-to-develop bad habits.  Recognizing this, I have a safety man named Larry who teaching in a community college.  When ever I do something stupid on camera I get a lecture from him and hopefully I dont repeat the faux pas.  You are right, small pieces usually prove to be the most dangerous operations.  cheers
