Hall Table dowel question

    When the dowels to fasten the table top were loose, couldn't you have glued and wrapped a shaving around the dowel as a "shim"?  It seems to me that the diameter that needed made up was only a few thousandths and the glue on both sides of the shim would have been strong enough to meet the need.

    Never mind.  I realized the dowel needs to be able to move in the hole so you wouldn't want to glue the dowel in.  I hate being stupid, particularly in public.  Ah well, such is learning.
