so far every one seems to like the tools.  and i have to admit they seem very well made to me as well.

so what is the current plan for new models

    ibc mortise chisels???

    wood river scrub plane?

wood river skewed block plane with fence?

    wood river router planes?

the reason i ask, is im wanting to be brand loyal, its kinda an ocd thing for me.  sure one brand has these items, but if i can afford to do which with wood river and ibc thats pretty much a given versus the other brands, then i stick with one company for purchases.  its not just the ocd or the cost, in so much as if i support the brand then there is a better chance that they will be around longer.  rob likes general canada power tools from planers to drill presses he seems to own half of whats still out there, i say still out there because general no longer exsists because not enough people were buying them, so most likely they had to raise prices to make enough to keep the business afloat. which means less people wanted to buy at that "required" price point.

chisels and plane blades wear out, it isnt 2,5,10, year deal for a hobbist, but it will eventually happen. sure i could sell my house, and buy two sets, keep one in storage, so i know i have them for the improbable future requirement of replacing them, which isnt bad for ibc, because having an extra or two just makes sense when dealing with maple and its gritty nature. but i dont need a display set of planes and chisels or a storage unit to keep them in till needed.

Yes to all the above but as for release dates I have not a clue!  In fact to even guess would be a shot in the dark.  I now simply enjoy being surprised when they arrive instead of frustrated watching projected dates float by.

Haha! If a router plane comes out soon I'll be more than a little annoyed as I just ordered one from lie Nielsen. But as far as the mortise chisels are concerned, I'm looking forward to those. John.
