    Hi Rob,

I just started watching episode 19 of the saw horse build. Woodcraft sells a Hock blade for a Stanley No. 40 scrub plane and St. James Bay Tool Company sells a set of replacement blades for the Stanley No. 148 for like $25.00. Take care.

I would suggest IBC if you are going to freehand sharpen.  Because the Hock blades are thinner than the IBCs or LN I find it more difficult to register the primary angle as a reference for the secondary and tertiary angle sharpening.

Does IBC or LN make a replacement blade for a Stanley 140? Rob bought some old Stanley planes and they were missing blades. That's what my post was for.
